    We cannot say enough good things about the UVC Disinfection lights you have provided to Ocean Park Volunteer Rescue Squad. So far, they have been durable, easy to operate and seem to be doing a very good job both in the cab and patient compartments of our ambulances. We are also rotating them through the Station living spaces with regularity. The simplicity and flexibility of the product allows our crews to easily deploy the lights between calls and we have now established a shift change routine that provides longer exposure times for the ambulance going off-duty. Instead of constantly spraying everything – this works on clothing and packages you don’t want to get wet.   We set it up in our bathroom and bring in everything that’s touched the ground. Set them up to face the light, and push the button. When the light comes from under the door, it looks like the light from Harry Potter’s wand. We’ve named ours Petronus.

Our UVC germicidal lamps are easy to use and effective in rooms up to 900 square feet. Simply place the light in the room you would like to treat. Treats areas, such as under the sink, crawl spaces, bathtubs, and other surfaces.

Using the remote control, set the lamp for 30, 60, or 120 minutes (larger rooms require more time) Set the timer for up to 99 minutes. Once activated, the lamp will only turn on after a three-minute delay, giving the user time to exit the room. People, animals, and plants MUST be removed from the room while the light is on.

Yes -germicidal UVC lamps are a known disinfectant for air, water, and nonporous surfaces. Helps remove up to 99.9% of most viruses, airborne bacteria and mold spores.

How hot does this UVC lamp get?

Germicidal UVC lamps do not produce much heat - about the same as fluorescent lamps.

Which UVC light wavelengths kill bacteria/viruses/mold?

The UV-C portion of the ultraviolet spectrum includes wavelengths between 100nm and 280nm. The wavelength with the greatest lethal effectiveness is 253.7nm which defines the germicidal category. Germicidal light destroys the ability of bacteria, viruses and other pathogens to multiply by deactivating their reproductive capabilities.

How does a UVC light kill bacteria?

Bacteria are a group of single-celled microorganisms that reproduce through cell division. Among other things, bacteria cause fermentation, diseases, and sepsis. The single cell property of bacteria is destroyed or sterilized by UV light. Since the main form of reproduction in bacteria is through cell division, any alteration in the structure or segment of the cell can influence the cell division process.
Ultraviolet (UV) light is a type of light that exists on the electromagnetic spectrum between X-beams and visible light and which travels in vacuum with the same speed of light equal to c. We are presented with low levels of UV light from the sun’s beams each day, although the ozone layer consumes a significant part of the UV energy.

 Why use UVC light to kill bacteria?

I bought a few lights and one of my llights look dimer than the other is it broken?

The difference in brightness does not affect the potency. The gases in the filament are just flowing differently in each bulb, sometimes due to voltage drops. So the brightness does not affect the light wave length of 254 nm and the germ killing ability.

How do I use the UVC test card that you sell.

To safely use the test card, fold the bulb into the lamp fixture frame. Stand on the back side of the lamp when turning the light on. Reach the card around the lamp frame where the bulb is shining. This will keep you from being exposed to the dangerous UVC light rays.
